Wilbrahimovic couldn't save us from defeat |
This rescheduled game due to the home sides participation in the FA Cup perhaps should have been delayed longer in hindsight. The writing was on the wall seeing as there were four former Palace players in the home sides line up. Add to that the fact that Palace had not had a game for ten days. These are not excuses.
On a heavy pitch against a very physical side the first half was not much to write hom about. It was inevitably former Palace loan striker James Vaughan that scored the solitary goal which secured all three points for the manageress northerners. Bolasie, Murray and Easter all had good chances to level the game. Neil Danns came close for Huddersfield while the other two former Palace favourites Scannell and Lee both made an appearance from the bench.
Holloway upped the anty and threw on Easter and Wilbraham for the final fifteen minutes in place of Richards and Parr. A bold move which unfortunately did not pay off.
Nothing to comment on in the post match press conference. I assume that Holloway will surface with something to say at some stage. Needless to say, this was a sore loss.
View from The Eagles Beak: The indifferent spell continues but I will refrain from being critical. Palace sit just two points off 2nd place so it's not all doom and gloom.
