Get Moritz out for the lads ... |
This game was a mission. Palace needed to get back on track
and I will not throw the usual New Year clichés at you.
As it turns out, fans need not have worried about this game
at all. It was a rather convincing victory for Palace and a much needed one at
that. But it did take half an hour to get on score sheet courtesy of Andre
Moritz who started his second game in succession instead of Owen Garvan. And it
proved the difference. It was 20 yard free kick from the Brazilian to put the
home side in front and just before the break it was winger Bolasie who scored
to double the lead. The game was sealed through another free kick from Moritz
early in the second half but there was a late consolation from Ebanks-Blake for
Wolves.
It was a fine attacking display from the home side with Zaha
involved in almost everything good that they did. That will only add to the
vultures circling overhead Selhurst baying for his signature now that the silly
season that is the transfer window now upon us.
The win puts Palace back in to 3rd place in the
league on 47 points, two points behind Hull in second and nine behind leaders
Cardiff.
