Another new era at Selhurst Park. The crowd welcomed Ian
Holloway ahead of his first game in charge of the Eagles. There is little doubt
that he has inherited a side that he hasn’t got to an awful lot with but it is
the long haul that we are interested. But the fun starts here.
None of us could envisage this start for Holloway but it was
a rather nervous opening to the game with struggling Ipswich taking control. But
it was Bolasie that settled the crowd and the new management team with a delightful
chip over the keeper for his first goal for the club since joining from Bristol
City. That was the score at the half but then it was the Glen Murray show. He
coolly put away two penalties in the space of five minutes and soon had a third
to complete his hat trick but h it was third time lucky for the Ipswich keeper
who saved, more so down to how much practise he had I guess. But Murray was not
to be denied and his hat trick was confirmed minutes later which took his tally
for the season to 13. The icing on the cake was a late fifth from the
impressive Moritz.
View from TheEaglesBeak; The unbeaten run stretches to 12 games, not
even a management change can stop us. This has to come to an end at some stage
but long may it continue.
